In this course we will teach you all the basics of windsurfing.
| prior knowlede/requirements | No previous knowledge is necessary, windsurfing is suitable for everyone who has some athleticism and coordination. Participation is required from 12 years and a weight of at least 35kg. Please arrange participation for children under 12 years of age with us individually. |

| course schedule |
The course meets at 10 a.m. for theory and “dry exercises on the beach”. Then it's straight onto the water, where you learn in a relaxed yet responsible way to get the basic maneuvers under control and really enjoy the sport. After a short debriefing, the course ends at 1 p.m. IMPORTANT: The basic windsurfing course preferably takes place in the morning due to the moderate wind conditions. However, changes to the course schedule are possible or necessary due to weather conditions or the number of participants. |
| course content | Rigging the surfboard, starting position, approaching, luffing/falling away, sail adjustment, courses to the wind, tacking, gybing, shifting, tacking, stopping, safety on the water and legal and knot knowledge |
| licence | At the end of the course (usually Friday morning) the exam for the basic windsurfing license can be taken. This is a first important proof of experience for the association, which is required as a minimum requirement for surfing in some inland areas. The testing fee of €25 is paid directly on site. |
| recommended clothing |
All necessary surfing equipment and a life jacket are included in the course price. Additionally (not included): Neoprene shoes must be worn due to the risk of injury. We recommend long wetsuits from September to June plus a surf fleece (long-sleeved shirt with thermal protection) on cold days. In July, August and warm September and June days, a short wetsuit and/or UV shirt is sufficient. Important: sunscreen with a high SPF. If you have mastered the basic surfing maneuvers, you are well prepared to earn more special technics for windsurfing. You can try also a wingfoil course. |
